Inclusive Sports Provision for Children’s Homes and Care Settings

Consistent, engaging physical activity designed around the young people you support

SEN Sports partners with children’s homes and specialist care settings to deliver structured, inclusive sports sessions for children and young people with additional needs.

Our sessions can be adapted for young people with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, SEMH needs and other barriers to participating in traditional sports provision.

We focus on building trust, encouraging participation and creating positive experiences through physical activity.

More Than Just a Sports Session

Physical activity can provide children and young people with a positive outlet, a sense of achievement and an opportunity to build healthy routines.

However, many young people need an approach that considers their individual experiences, communication needs, confidence and emotional wellbeing.

Our coaches take the time to understand the young people they are supporting. Activities are adjusted to their abilities, interests and level of engagement, without placing unnecessary pressure on them to participate in a particular way.

What We Can Provide

  • Regular weekly sports sessions

  • One-to-one or small-group activities

  • Strength and conditioning

  • Multi-skills and adapted sports

  • Boxing-based fitness activities

  • Team games and cooperative challenges

  • Holiday and school-break programmes

  • Sports events and activity days

Sessions may be delivered at your home, within an appropriate community facility or at another agreed location.

Supporting Positive Outcomes

Depending on the needs of each young person, sessions can help to support:

  • Confidence and self-esteem

  • Physical fitness and coordination

  • Positive routines and healthy habits

  • Emotional regulation

  • Social interaction and teamwork

  • Communication and engagement

  • Greater independence

  • Positive relationships with trusted adults

We recognise that progress will look different for every young person. For some, success may mean completing a full session. For others, it may begin with entering the activity space, trying one exercise or gradually building a relationship with their coach.

Every step forward matters.

Provision Designed Around Your Setting

Before recommending a programme, we will speak with you about the young people you support, their individual needs, the outcomes you want to work towards and any practical requirements within your setting.

We can then create a suitable session structure and provide a tailored proposal for your organisation.

Where regular provision is agreed, consistency will be prioritised to help young people become familiar with their coach and establish a predictable routine.

Let’s Explore What Would Work for Your Home

If you are looking for meaningful activities that can engage the young people you support while developing confidence, physical skills and positive routines, we would be happy to discuss your requirements.
